Our music program is diverse and covers nearly all age ranges. Everything from beginning music lessons on through bell, brass, and and vocal choirs are offered and play routinely on Sunday mornings throughout the year. If you like to sing, play a musical instrument, or just listen, this is your place.
Children’s Vocal Choirs
First Lutheran School offers children’s choirs for every age (pre-school through grade 5).
- Pre-school Choir (3 and 4 year olds) led by Carole P.
- Kindergarten along with 1st and 2nd Grade Choir led by Ann H.
- 3rd through 5th Grade Choir led by Ann H.
- Chapel Praise Team (contemporary Christian songs with CD backup and/or guitar) for grade school chapel services led by Ann H.
- Middle School Choir led by Ann H. (takes lead role in School Christmas program and spring Musical)
Hand Bells and Tone Chimes
In addition to vocal choirs, the grade school also offers the following special musical opportunities:
- Students in the 5th grade learn the fundamentals of ringing tone chimes and hand bells.
- Middle School students may choose to participate in one or more of the Middle School Bell Choirs
Recorders
- Students in 3rd grade learn the basics of playing the recorder.
- Students in 4th grade continue to develop skill at playing the recorder.
Band
Classroom Music Students in 1st through 5th grades receive weekly instruction in music theory and music appreciation.
- Students in 4th grade through 8th grade may choose to participate in band
- “Music Is Ageless” runs our school’s band program.
